Cancellation and Refund Policy
Policy version: 2026.8.8 / manual-20260913-refund-en
Article 1 (Purpose)
This Policy sets out the standards and procedures for cancellation, withdrawal, and refunds for transactions conducted through the rareon service.
Article 2 (Transaction Types)
This Policy distinguishes between user-to-user brokerage transactions (C2C) and direct sales by the Company (B2C). Different cancellation and refund standards apply according to the legal nature of each transaction.
Article 3 (Cancellation and Refund Standards by Transaction Type)
| Category | C2C brokerage transaction | B2C direct sale by the Company |
|---|---|---|
| Cancellation due to change of mind | Generally unavailable after the transaction is concluded | Available within 7 days after receipt, subject to the exceptions in Article 4 |
| Failed inspection | Transaction automatically canceled and buyer receives a 100% refund | Not applicable |
| Incorrect delivery or defect | Refund or compensation process applies if caused by an inspection error by the Company | Free exchange or refund within 3 months after receipt, or within 30 days after discovering the defect |
Article 4 (Restrictions on Withdrawal — Legal Grounds)
① For a B2C transaction, the buyer may generally withdraw within seven days from receipt of the product under Article 17 of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc.
② The following circumstances are statutory restrictions on withdrawal under Article 17(2) of that Act and Article 21 of its Enforcement Decree. The Company provides advance notice and takes measures to avoid obstructing withdrawal, including providing trial products in an easily identifiable location where applicable.
a. The product's value has materially decreased because packaging or similar materials were damaged (Article 21(1) of the Enforcement Decree)
b. Opening a trading-card pack, box, or similar product immediately eliminates its value because the contents become known
c. A sealed random box or unidentified collectible has been opened
③ A C2C transaction between individuals is not directly subject to the statutory withdrawal rules that apply to transactions between mail-order sellers and consumers. Accordingly, cancellation due solely to a change of mind is generally unavailable after the transaction is concluded, and the Company clearly discloses this before the transaction.
Article 5 (Special Terms for Random Boxes — Card Packs and Blind Products)
For random boxes, including trading-card packs, whose value is immediately determined or lost when opened, the Company clearly displays "No returns or refunds after opening" on the payment screen. Withdrawal is restricted only for transactions where the user has consented by checking the applicable box. If an unopened product is found to be defective or inauthentic during inspection, it will be refunded under Article 6.
Article 6 (Failed Inspection and Defects)
① If inspection determines that a product is counterfeit or has a material defect that differs substantially from its description, the Company refunds the buyer's full payment and imposes the penalty specified in Article 11 on the seller.
② If a defective product is delivered due to an inspection error by the Company, the Company handles the refund or exchange at its own expense.
Article 7 (Delayed Refunds and Delay Compensation)
If the Company or seller delays a refund without a valid reason, delay compensation will be paid as prescribed by Article 18(5) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc. and applicable public notices.
Article 8 (Dispute Resolution)
If the parties cannot reach an agreement concerning a cancellation or refund, the user may apply for dispute mediation through the Korea Consumer Agency or the Electronic Commerce Mediation Committee.
